Christmas

Christmas is based on a northern hemisphere Christmas with snow and warm red fires, or it could be the red embers from a traditional Australian Christmas bushfire.

Christmas is is based on Aardvark and needs Aardvark installed first. This version is 6.x-1.0 from November 12, 2009. A download will be provided on request.

Special features

The hat image is supplied as an SVG file so you can modify the file in any way you like using Inkscape. Other SVG files are suggested for future decorative effects.

The navigation bar is loaded after the content to make the page easier to read using screen readers. The load order is header. content, sidebar first, sidebar second, navigation, then footer. All the current themes with that load order have fixed height navigation bars and break when you have a few menu entries or a narrow screen. Christmas changes the height when you change the screen width. Try resizing this screen to see the result.

The original Christmas theme was converted to a subtheme of A3 Atlantis because A3 Atlantis theme is one of the best content first themes. Unfortunately A3 Atlantis is not easy to use for subthemes. Christmas was then moved to Basic, a starter theme you modify instead of using subthemes. Basic is also a bit messy because basic is a cut down Zen. Christmas is now based on Aardvark to make common modifications easier and to make the page download faster.
