Cynthia Says is another general purpose test. The tests produce useful checklists for human testing.

Cynthia Says has one test for WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) and another for US 508. WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) are the rules for testing Web pages and Total Validator has three tests for WGAG at levels A, AA, and AAA, plus a test for US 508. Total Validator often picks up things not detected by Cynthia Says. Wave also occasionally picks up something not detected by Cynthia Says.

Perform the validations in the order they are presented at the bottom of the D-theme pages and correct the errors as you go. When you reach the Cynthia Says tests, print the test checklists then go through all the items listed on the pages. Leave at least one minute between the two Cynthia Says validations as Cynthia Says will reject more frequent validations.

The Cynthia Says WAI test mentioned two items, missing meta description and keywords, and both are related to content, not the theme. D-theme uses the Meta tags add-on module to add the meta information.
13.2 Provide metadata to add semantic information to pages and sites.

* Rule: 13.2.2 - Documents are required to use META elements, that are defined as required, in Head section.
o Failure - Document does not contain a META element with the required name: description or description does not have a 'content' value.

Cynthia Says also produces the following warnings. A theme cannot fix the problems mentioned in the warnings because the theme does not know the order in which the elements will be used.
9.4 Create a logical tab order through links, form controls, and objects.

9.5 Provide keyboard shortcuts to important links (including those in client-side image maps), form controls, and groups of form controls.
    * Rule: 9.5.1 - All Anchor, AREA, BUTTON, INPUT, LABEL, LEGEND, and TEXTAREA elements are required to use the 'accesskey' attribute.
        o Warning - One or more Anchor, AREA, BUTTON, INPUT, LABEL, LEGEND, and TEXTAREA elements do not use the 'accesskey' attribute.
