A common feature of modern Web pages is a skip link at the start of the page for visually impaired people using screen readers. A lot of Drupal 6 themes give the link an id of skip. In Drupal 7, skip is renamed to skip-link.

The minimum in Drupal 6 themes is a link to the content so people using screen readers can access the content without listening to all the HTML and other junk in front of the content. The link usually has an id of skip. The link may be within a div element (as shown in the following example) or a span element and the id might be in the div (as in example) or span instead of the link.

Drupal 7 uses the id skip-link as shown in the following example. Change your themes to use skip-link so there is one less thing to do when converting to Drupal 7.

You could also add a link to the navigation section, especially when you navigation is in a sidebar and the sidebar is after the content.
