Tendu is designed for bidirectional text and is almost XHTML 1.0 Strict.

Tendu is designed as a base for bidirectional text and is almost XHTML 1.0 Strict. You create subthemes using Tendu when you want bidirectional text. Tendu is supplied with two subthemes. Tendu Default is a finished theme based on Tendu and and the one you should look at to see what you can do with Tendu. Doil is an experiment in progress.

This Tendu is 6.x-2.1-beta5 from 2009-Feb-23, a 105.27 KB download.

The theme passes the basic XHTML 1.0 Strict test but has a doctype set for XHTML 1.0 Transitional. I hope the next release updates the doctype.

The following lines both use content as the id/name.
<div id="content">
<a class="accessibility-target" name="content">

There should not be any white space at the start or end of an attribute's value:
<div id="block-user-0" class="block block-user block-even ">

Both Wave and Cynthia Says list problems with links.
